I'm so glad you're here! A little bit about me... I was born and raised in San Francisco, where I started and built this business. I currently reside in the vibrant Mission district with my husband and my daughter. My passion in life is creating art in any form that resonates with people. I hope what you find here does just that.
MC Designs
Like many people, a lot changed for me in 2020. I was working in tech as a Program Manager, which was a comfortable and safe position, but I wasn't feeling fulfilled. When you're stuck inside and forced to reflect, it can be pretty jarring to realize that you're actually not as happy as you thought. And so I started dabbling with different art forms and found I loved making jewelry and pieces that can be worn and admired as part of an individual's self-expression. I started just by making pieces for myself, but soon friends and family started asking me how they could buy my designs. And so, Opal Marketplace was born! It was a real crash course on entrepreneurship, but the support from my community was really special. Not long after, I entered the best role of my life: motherhood. I wanted to give that all my attention so I took a step back from work and my business. When I felt the fire to return to this passion, I felt like Opal Marketplace as a brand didn't feel like me anymore. So I sat with it a bit to figure out how it has evolved, as I have evolved... and MC Designs was created. I hope you love it.
